Happy New Year!! Hope 2017 is off to a great start for everyone! I love the idea of a word to help guide your year and I picked FOCUS for my word of the year!
First, let’s catch up a little! My family spent the last two weeks of 2016 traveling from Virginia to Arkansas to visit grandparents. Then, Kansas to visit all the rest of our family and friends from our hometown! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the trip! The drive home was pretty rough but we made it! And over the past two days, we’ve been getting unpacked and back into our groove at home. I’ve spent the last few days using my new planner from Plum Paper to try and get organized. I’ve been working on a list of things to accomplish this year and places in my life that I want to put some serious focus on.
FOCUS is my word of the year for 2017 because I seem to get so distracted by everything lately. I get motivated to start new things but never find the focus and determination to stick to them and finish what I’ve started. I love Tabitha from Team Studer‘s list of 100 small things so I’ve been working on my own list. It takes a little time to pull together but I’ll have that posted early next week to share with all of you. Breaking goals down into small things will be much easier than just having 2 or 3 large goals for the year.
2017 has a lot in store for my family!
The next few months are going to fly by! By June of this year, we will be living in Japan. That means my bucket list of things to do in the Northern Virginia area needs some focus! Along with other areas of our life. The house will need to be organized like crazy before our move. My Etsy Shop had been off to a great start since opening last fall. So many more ideas for it are rolling around in my head though and I need to get focused on that. The husband and I are looking to get healthy in the new year. Hopefully, showing the kids along the way that healthy food can taste good! The list goes on and on!
Of course, I went to Pinterest and pinned some quotes about the word focus that inspired me.
Check out that board, here.
Thanks for checking into my small part of the world wide web. I can’t wait to share more with all of you! What is your focus for the new year? Do you have big goals or a list of small things to accomplish? Have you picked a word of the year to guide you? Let me know!!
