Back in 1912, Juliette Low started the first Girl Scout troop! And Girl Scouts still celebrate Juliette Low today, on Girl Scout Founder’s Day, October 31st!

It’s celebrated every year on Halloween because that’s the day Juliette was born in 1860. In previous years, my troops have had all kinds of different party celebrations for Founder’s Day. Birthday cake is almost always included, which is always a plus! We sing Happy Birthday and share facts about Juliette Low. She was an extraordinary woman, who lived an extraordinary life! This year, I put together a Juliette Low Bingo game for the girls to play!!
It includes 12 different Bingo Cards and 24 different facts about Juliette’s life for the Bingo Clues. I printed everything out and laminated all the pages. I use this laminator, that I scored for an awesome deal last year on Black Friday! It’s very useful for many Girl Scout projects.
Laminating the pages makes them last a little longer. It also allows you to use dry erase markers on the boards to mark the spaces that have been called. Another idea I found, are those little green gems in the pics. I got a bag of them for $.97 at Wal-mart (they were in the craft/floral section). You will need a few bags depending on how many girls you have playing but just a few dollars is not too bad and I’m sure you could find more ways to use them than just for Bingo. Maybe, as “money” for girls earning their Financial Literacy badges?!
I’m so excited for the girls to learn a few new facts about Juliette Low when we play this game at our upcoming Founder’s Day Party. I know I even learned a few new things about Juliette Low while I was putting this whole game together.
You can purchase the Juliette Low Bingo Game in my Etsy Shop!

Juliette Low lead an incredibly interesting life! She loved the outdoors, was a talented artist and tried her best to help others in any way she could. What’s your favorite fact to share about the founder of Girl Scouts? How does your troop celebrate Founder’s Day? What other activities do you do to teach the girls about Juliette Low?
