Today FINALLY feels like fall! Cool and cloudy, perfect for sipping coffee and making lists!
A recap of September:
☑ Goal #1– Pre-School – I put together some homeschool Pre-School plans for my youngest daughter. I’ll be adding them to my Etsy Shop soon! I’m not a teacher but I want to focus a little more on making sure she is ready for Kindergarten next year.
- We focused on writing and reading the first few letters of the alphabet. I also did get the Pre-School Calendar added to my Etsy Shop.
☑ Goal #2 – Closets – When we got all our household goods in July, I just threw things in closets. Gotta make some time this month to get those closets organized now!
- We had some wire shelving that had been taken apart during our move that my son and I were able to put together pretty easily. This allowed for me to move a bunch of holiday decorations that I have stored in totes to an outside storage space. That means that our “Harry Potter Closet” is so much more accessible and has more room for the coats and jackets we will need once cool weather finally sticks around. I also rearranged the hallway closet upstairs. That freed up some space there too, so once I dig into the kid’s closets I can move things into more logical places.
☑ Goal #3 – Clothes – All summer, I’ve lived in gym shorts and t-shirts because it has been so miserably hot. But I’d like to feel a little more put together most days. Now that we’ve finished back to school shopping for the kids, it’s time to focus on building a closet full of clothes I like to wear! I purchased this e-book and I’ve started to buy some of the items online. Fingers crossed that it helps me out a little bit.
- Until today it’s still been so hot! Online shopping helped me get a few new things for my fall wardrobe. (this, this, this and these – not affiliate links, just sharing cause I like them) The order I placed from Target was pretty good. The “A New Day” line of clothes seems to be great! Luckily, Nordstrom’s has a great return policy though because the shirt and shoes I ordered from there did not work out! Gonna work with things already in my closet and start putting some cute outfit together now that we finally have weather that’s not in the high 80s and 90s.
New Goals for October:
Goal #1– Swap the kid’s closet from summer to winter clothes. And buy some new jeans for these kids who won’t stop growing!
Goal #2– Read Dave Ramsey’s book, Total Money Makeover (affiliate link). I’ve put a lot of focus on our finances in the last few months. I want to see what all this book has to offer to boost our motivation to get debt free.
Goal #3– Plan a Date Night! Local? Yokohama? Tokyo? We’ll be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary this October and it’s time we went out for an evening as just husband and wife!!
